---------Before I even meet you, I believe in You----------Margie Logan

I would like to share with you the fact that I begin this same type of program 12 years ago here at the learning center. I married young and dropped out of school. I was given the same opportunity as you to build my educational and job skills. My life long gaol has been to be a teacher and to help enhance the lives of our community. There was a time in my life that I truly thought that my goal was unreachable. Through this program I realized any goal is obtainable with a little hard work and determination. Once I changed my attitude toward a more positive range every thing began to fall into place. I obtained my GED while in the program and have been an instructor here at the center for 10 years now and an additional two years of volunteer service. I work full time and am a full time college student at Morehead State University. I am still working toward my goal as an Adult Educator and Social Worker. I achieved my Associate's Degree in University Studies this past May.  I plan to continue until I reach my goals.  My focus is teaching employability skills, family literacy, Coordination of volunteers, and recruitment. My job here is not a mere paycheck but rather a mission in my life to help others in our community to reach for the stars and to believe in themselves. My goal is to reach out to others and offer them the same opportunity that another gave to me. I love to read, enjoy the great outdoors, meeting and working with new people, and I love a good challenge. I value my relationship with God and my family. I look forward to every new group of students and anticipate a great semester!!!!

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your mind off your goals.

Angie is a 1985 graduate of West Carter High School and has been at the center for over 4 years.   In 1986, she received an Administrative Assistant Certificate from Rowan State Vocational School. She is working toward her Bachelor's Degree in University Studies at Morehead State University. Her focus is on teaching intermediate reading, writing, and math. Angie graduated from KAELI (Kentucky Adult Education Literacy Institute) on April 21, 2006 which was offered through Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.  KAELI is an in-depth exploration of the reading and writing processes and investigation of teaching and learning strategies that support the struggling adult literacy learner.  She enjoys working with her students because of her own life experiences and feels that she can connect with the students in a special way. Angie welcomes all students to the center and looks forward to working with you. Angie is also involved with the community such as: Member of First Christian Church, member of the Ladies American Legion Post 138 Ladies Auxiliary, Olive Hill Historical Society, Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce, Olive Hill High School Alumni and Friends Association, and many other community activities. Angie enjoys spending time with her husband Tim and her kids Clay and Cheyenne. Any spare time that Angie has is spent outside playing with her black lab Layla and peek-a-poo Minnie Mo.
